For a haul and tow I doubt it. You’d never put that much weight on the deck to need tandem drives. Many of those guys can even stay under 26k.

I don’t know what they put in those M2’s for power and transmission options but I would do a lot of careful research on all of them. I still like manual transmissions if they even still offer it. With a smaller bore engine a 13 speed wouldn’t be a bad idea.

I had a brief experience running a haul and tow rig for somebody else (long story) but I have to say it was way more comfortable than running OTR in a little truck and might be interested in something like this myself at some point. Have to very careful to watch for pavement transitions that slope down then up sharply or the beaver tail will scrape.

Oh man I would lose a LOT of loads without tandems. I can scale up to 32k.....it helps a LOT IMO. I really wish mine was a lift though....less tires touching the evil arse ground!

No, building a 2 car rig 26k gvwr for local/regional.
Been checking loadboard for about 2 months now and I can make the same amount of money and be home every night or at least every other night.

So I met with a freightliner dealer to iron out a build this week. At first he said I can get the truck by August. When I got to the dealer it turned to October and by the time I got home this week I got an email from him saying Freightliner has paused production for 3 months and I can't get the truck before January 1st...

I was ready to put a down payment next week but January is too far away. Means truck wont be completed before sometime February and on the road by March. A year is just too long of a wait. Just my luck.

I think I'll just grab a prebuilt rollback and run singles. Can still gross 1k a week with less expenses than my current truck.

I like Paccar better anyway. Those Kenworth 440’s look pretty cool and I think you can get a sleeper on them
