been freezing my balls off lately because the espar wants to die after 15 minutes with a blower motor fault. tripac has the arctic package thing that runs coolant for block heat...25 degrees ambient and oil temp sits at 95 degrees. *thinking* wait a second, 95 degrees is warm enough to toast some air...click the key over to accessory. I HAVE ANOTHER HEATER :jerk:

My bunk heater is the same way, usually. It will run fine for 10-15 minutes then shut off.
    Sadly I don't have a Tripac.

Although sometimes the bunk heater will stay on for hours.
This is a strange truck I'm in. Things usually don't work correctly, but sometimes they do.
International LT... and I have never had a reliable ProStar either.

I just collected enough blankets to eskimo to sleep and use the heater to make it less painful to get out of bed in the morning. at some point being cold af will be motivation enough to pop that thing out and learn how to fix it. couple more weeks and i can forget about it again until october

    Yes.
    Winter is finally almost over.
Then we get to deal with the heat issues.

I prefer very cold or very hot for one reason...
I can keep the truck running to provide heat and cooling.
Those in-between months are a real pain.

Espar heaters need to have fuel filter screen replaced yearly. Inlet side of suction side of pump. Pump is by fuel tank in a rubber isolator. Does pump run?.
excercise heater every month especially in off season for 10 min at max heat.
Dont short cycle heater, turn heater off before turning ignition switch on. In most trucks turning ignition switch on cuts power to heater if heater is in a fueling cycle it will fill burner chamber with unburned fuel. Next time you use it the igniter pin (glow pin) will have a mini explosion from unburned fuel and atomizer screen will plug with excess carbon.
change igniter pin, atomizer screen all comes in a kit. Easy to fix

If you fuel up in the south and end up north

The bunk heater gels up faster then the truck.

20 - 25 degrees was usually a challenge to keep em working.

I have a different problem. My heater works well enough and doesn’t shut off.

The problem is that the minimum temperature it will run at is “75 degrees”. This is fine when it’s January and it’s 0 degrees outside. However it will cook me out of the sleeper when the spring is starting and the temp only drops down to 40 degrees during the night.

I love my bunk heater. I'll set it to 65 for the night, then when I wake up I'll crank it up to 80 lol can't stand idling anymore. It used to help me sleep but that has passed. Plus my air dryer sounds like an old air starter and goes off every 5 minutes. No leaks, just set up that way

I’ll check the inlet air vent to heater when it shuts down too often. Sure it’s because it gets too hot from lack of inlet air.
