I am selling my 2012 Freightliner Cascadia, auto shift with 550k miles and lease a new Freightliner. Is the hassle worth the cheese?

Whats wrong with it ? At 550 k you still got a lot more miles to burn .

Trade it in ? Keep it? Problem is you sell it. You need to be around to sell it, so you lose revenue. Also people struggle with having money to pay for it. Depending on what they offer you, it might be better to just keep it.

Except maybe for the emissions system. :( Alot drivers like to sell em' at 500,000 mles before the problems start.

I know alot of drivers at over 750 k on these engines , its the idle time that kills it . Im at almost 800k but I have replaced sensors and a pump but still manageable . Takes some research and a little mechanic skill to keep the system inline but yeah its a headache some aren't willing to put up with .

yeah you can get miles on them for sure, but have plenty of check engine lights, limp modes, and all out shut downs. Sensor failures, etc, etc. You may know people with high miles but they aren't gonna tell you about the 1000's and 1000's of dollars it cost them on down time and diagnosis and repair bills it cost them when warrant was up. So dont try and upsell like the emissions motors have come along way. The haven't and its known fact. They are junk. Hence the reason pre dpf and egr motors prevail. No down time and heck engine lighs. If somethng is wrong and motor cant keep going, its because the motor threw a rod. Did you buy your truck new? If you did, you woul be the first on the laet that didnt spend thousands o nonsense failures. Im gonna bet you bought it second hand and you have no idea what the previou owner had to deal with an dont have a clue to the actual records

Or there is also this new invention called an auction. :p

Lose a day or two of revenue in the sell price, but pick up a week or two of revenue in saved time.
