I don't know about avgas, but every load of jet fuel I've ever hauled to civilian airports required a 10-minute wait for the load to settle in the trailer before they would pull a sample.

Do they take the sample out of the header or out of the dome?

They always took it out of the API head.

Same with AvGas. I also haul a lot of Jet fuel. That little wait is all part of the inspection process.

Hi. I'm about to get hired on with a local fuel hauler delivering to gas stations. 3-5 loads per day.

Any tips on how not to smell like gas or how not to get it on your skin? Also do you wear masks also for the fumes or no? Any tips are appreciated.

Wear your gloves and just understand that liquids seek their own level.
No masks required. You don’t wear a mask while gassing up your car do you?
There is a vapor recovery system for the fumes.

No masks required, you should be able to get home easily without smelling like gas…. Don’t hug your hose(although they need love too) start at the back of the hose and walk it off the trailer.. when done dropping alway walk your hoses out a couple time to ensure it’s empty before you disconnect(few exceptions)… but it’s the same process when cleaning up… make sure everything is closed before you disconnect and don’t hug the hoses when putting them up.. walk em back on the trailer.

When I first switched to running LPG I wore my FR coveralls EVERYWHERE. Now I don't even know where they're at lol a bit different than gasoline/diesel but if anyone here runs LPG you'll know what I mean when I say it took me getting a shower in methanol to remember to close my bleeders before I open the line...
