I do remember that time very well. I made some of my best money in trucking. If you run a fuel efficient truck, get a National average fuel surcharge, and are in a program that good discounts at the pump you should be making MORE money when fuel goes up. I know it’s a hard concept to wrap your head around but it’s true. I filled up last week and with our fuel discount on one fill up I got $98,56 off the pump price , on average at the current prices my discount alone is $367.78.

If you are leased onto a company that has steady contract customers that fuel surcharges are a part of the agreement you probably can make money irregardless of the price of fuel.

If you are on the spot Market where it's just an all in price, probably not so much.

True. But it’s them just narrowing the gap on us a little. Those contracts pay low to start with.

Well let's see. I started this post quite some time ago, February 4th to be exact.

So we have heard it's only this point in time it's because of this it's because of that it's going to go down it's going to be this it's not what you think it is blah blah blah... Yeah, ok.

Haven't seen it go down I've only seen it go up. As I predicted. And there's no end in sight whatsoever. I have recently paid the absolute highest price for fuel that I have paid in the last several years. Hmmm... How could that be?

I will tell you this. When one person makes his own commodity and then suddenly decides I'm not going to make it anymore I'll depend on my competitors, and then the competitors raise the prices why would anyone be surprised?

I mean if that was you what would your response be? You would say well if you don't like it make it yourself. "But I just stopped doing that". Ok, then just bend over and we're going to smile. Like a moron you voluntarily rely on us now. Thank you for the great favor you've done for us now you can smile too as we thrust you rapidly and give you exactly what you asked for. I mean stopping your own production and relying on your competitors, what do you think you were asking for?

And then if your big plan is to get down on your hands and knees and beg your competitors please please don't raise the price you will affect my popularity... They will just laugh in your face which has already happened many times over.

But hey, it's not like we've ever seen this before or we had any idea this would happen... if only there was some way that we could have had a warning, some way that we could have had some indication of what could happen in the future...

The president doesn’t make his own commodity or the prices.

It would have happened with either guy.

The last time gas was this high. Trump was in office. And then came covid. Then came other country tragidies.

Inflation in general started with Trump tariffs.

The rapid cost of housing increase started with Trump.

You all sure forget history. REALLY QUICK.

Come on snoowwy. You can show these guys all the data, but they will never believe that the lowest prices of gas during the Trump presidency was January of 2016. It's gone up every year since then.
