Crossed Northbound at Pacific Highway this morning. US Border patrol was doing an inspection blitz right under the overpass before the duty free lot. Bit of a backup while they checked nearly every truck. One guard searching the cabs while two go through the load.

First I had seen it out here. If PAC Highway and Sweetgrass were as tight as Pembina, there probably wouldn’t be as many trying to get through.

Being an O/O Contractor, its all on him. The company is only concerned with their trailer, and that's about it. Their insurance has already covered the seized load.

    ***Update***

So if you guys really wanna be depressed, and reminded there is no hope, just look into local jobs.

A quick summary of about 50 hiring ad's and reviews of said companies hiring.

1- You will do whatever we say, when we say to do it, or you're fired and won't get paid
2- You will be off a maximum of 8 hours a day, this includes commuting time to and from work
3- You will not have a set schedule, you will start when we tell you to start the night before, 24 hours a day
4- You will slip seat, O/O's will have to find someone to slip seat their truck so it keeps rolling
5- Your weekend will be whatever day you run out of hours, and won't be longer than 36hr's off including commute time
6- You will make $15-22/hr company, and $34-39/hr O/O, no OT. If its paid by the move, there will be no waiting time (Cans) so its basically less than min wage.
7- If you don't like it then #### YOU! We've got thousands of applications.

Yea I'm going back to construction, as soon as I can offload my truck, forget this.

Hey , try giving bison a call Their hiring owner operators for city work in Calgary Bison has good consistent scheduled work. Trust me it’s really scheduled and you can make money their But the problem with bison is that their city jobs r posted internally and all the old owner operator s are adding their trucks on those jobs. Give em a shout. U may seem to find something. Give Arnold bro’s a shout. Their looking for a city driver in Calgary and their paying 23 bucks an hour for company driver

Appreciate it, but I'm banned for life from being an employee at Bison. I'm also not going to go back company, either O/O or like I said, back to construction.
