That's my experience and I'm sticking to it it doesn't take very long for the condition of the roads are and you can have good set on and boom you got one that's wearing on the inside or the outside and you got to replace the tire plus get a realignment

Honestly Sir, I would absolutely love to do that but at age 59.... ain't happening.

I did work with the Ohio State Patrol for several years as an Auxiliary State Trooper. Completed 1500 hours of Service with them. I loved every minute of it.

I almost made the decision to join them Fulltime, but decided to continue my Service in the Military instead. There was a 2 YEAR waiting period for us White Males to get into the State Patrol Academy and I was nearing the end of my 3rd Enlistment in the USAF (12 Year point).

I came to my senses and reupped for a 4th time. I ended up Retiring from the USAF with Full Benefits.

I had a RECAPPED STEER tire blow out on a Switcher Truck I was driving once ! Yea, that was fun pulling a Trailer as well. Good thing I was only going about 10 miles per hour. (have pics somewhere.....)

Another ####T Company (Universal in Smyrna, TN... Nissan plant). They couldn't give one #### about driver safety. Equipment was pure garbage. The trucks were Licensed too to drive on Public roads. They had no problem running RECAPPED STEER tires ! IIRC, recapped steers are actually LEGAL on switcher trucks. Unreal.....

Yeah i know. But if you let a tire go that far, especially a steer, it would not surprise me at all.

We all know Ohio is rough! I live here! But man this reminds me of a trooper who rolled up next to me at full speed and was able to see this tiny odd defect I had on a brand new Yoko steer. It had developed a clean slice going around the entire sidewall. It looked like someone had cut it with a blade but only a tiny bit....like as if you held a blade at my sidewall while it was spinning. But like I said just a tiny blade and with a tiny amount of pressure! I had been watching it closely and trying to decide what I was going to do. Heck he saw it from his car and pulled me over. We inspected it closely together and decided it was odd but safe and said bye. But I was like wow what a eyeball!

Recaps are legal for on the road trucks too. Just not for passenger buses.
