So after getting terminated from trappers today , I’ve been thinking a lot. I’ve seen a few owner operators. Jeramand trucking and TST trucking out of Nova Scotia. Thease folks are owner ops with more than 20 trucks with day and Ross and midland transport. I’m planning on choosing one of my good carriers and taking all my trucks to that one carrier. It’s just stress when ur dealing with 5 ,6 carriers. I’m leased on with Arnold brothers transport , TransX , teams transport , day and Ross , Canada Cartage And bison. Where do u all think I should take my trucks ? The only thing that prevents me from doing this is getting terminated!! If all 25 of my units get terminated from 1 carrier It will be then hard to get those trucks back on somewhere else. But at the same time , I want that ease of being at one carrier

I don't have a good answer but I would say don't try to move them all at one time.

You're already having trouble getting drivers. Expect to lose some if you force a big change on them.

What's more stressful, having trucks at 5-6 carriers or all 25 out of work at one carrier? And why?

Don't know your business, but I would think the latter, not the former. If it is the stress of dealing with multiple carriers, is it because you don't have a good system in place?

From what I know aren't the larger carriers that you are leased on with limiting the number of trucks - why not run on your own plates? Start with the four you have nowhere to take....just sayin' '....eggs all in one basket..' not a good business plan - everyone is all about diversifying now - another option is to sell and get the semis and get in on the amazon delivery business - I hear that is very lucrative

Jeramand is out of New Brunswick and TST is out of Nova Scotia. I find it hard to deal with any company is this day in age who doesn’t have a website. At least I couldn’t find anything but a FB page that I couldn’t access. I drove out of Dartmouth & Halifax doing OTR for a while and liked it.

If it is the last mile delivery forget it. In Canada the franchise is for many trucks and the job is like Uber.

You need to register your business with Amazon and then they call you if they like the profile - Amazon Logistics
They provide all the logistics you provide and run the drivers - you get a region. I have seen many people get out of trucking and into last mile delivery - it will only grow due to the pandemic and online ordering

It is the next thing - growing fast due to the pandemic.... and drivers don't need special training so not a bad gig
