This sums it up. A good businessman is going to make a fat profit regardless of what they do. A bad one will go broke. Additionally sure X hauling makes more up front but can cost a lot more money to do and maintain then Y.

None of them, it is the skill in knowing how to balance the work to leverage an overall higher profit.

for those who don’t or can’t understand it, stay as a driver for someone else.

    Coffey and Pittstruck Thank this.

You pick your own poison. It will only be what you make of it. For instance, I'm sure you've always heard people bad mouth container rates. I listened to the same thing for 15 years, but I bought a truck and started pulling rail containers. Is it easy? No. Is it clean? No. If I hitched another type of wagon onto my 5th wheel would I make more? Maybe..... maybe not, but fact is I'm making it and doing quite well for someone that can be home everyday, or if I want to stretch my legs all week I "can"... see what I did there? No matter what you do just remember it should always be, Run Less Miles For The Most Profit ! Every time you move that truck you're hemorrhaging money.

I'd go for a high seas Container vessel, hands down. The freight rates since June 2020 quadrupled. How much for that boat?

Any of those do better then the other depending on location and market conditions. It varies from year to year depending on what’s happening in the country/world.

And I’m a member of the TTR MC so my opinion is highly esteemed. lol (inside joke)
