Just curious OP - did you really download all those pictures from Reddit so you could post them here, or did you just show us your Reddit account?

Ya know... Some of the "damage" appears to be due to VERY POOR packaging. I've had UPS refuse a patched up box or two in my old caster selling days.
Also, the slit in that envelope was caused by the thief's pocket knife slicing in for the goodies he expected. Bet that little camshaft looking piece disappointed him.
He is trying to revamp FedEx's operating workings??

Could be, But you do know that Fred Smith was told by his college professors that his air-overnight concept would never work.
I was told by a very successful man: "It lost a lot of its glamor after I proved I could do it".

Last 4 feet of a $ Gen load comes out automatically when the doors are swung open. Saw that happen several times when Werner finally worked his way in the driveway of the store across the street from us. We would estimate the amount while watching. Old ex drivers get perverse pleasure that way. Can't be out causing it anymore.

Yeah, that envelop looks like a box cutter or sharp knife opened it.

I worked for AAA Cooper for a little under a year and you'd be surprised at the amount of freight that came into our dock from major hubs looking worse than this. It was a daily occurence. Recuperating freight, they called it. Pick it up, tape it up, load it up, and then ship it out.

It already takes forever to get a package. Imagine how long you’d wait if they packed ‘em high and tight! And how much more you’d have to pay for shipping. I’m ok with it. Out of about 40 packages my family ordered and had delivered in the past few months only one was crushed. And the contents were still good.

I didn't have to download anything. If you're on laptop you just click on the pictures from the Reddit thread and it takes you to an outside link with the picture. I just copied and pasted each link in the picture. I didn't have to download anything. It didn't take much time at all. Not like making 1,100 posts in a 3/4 of a year time frame since becoming a forum member would take me.

I'm kind of surprised to see that this is normal. Surely there must be a better way? Whether by putting shelves into the trailers, or some kind of dividers to make sure everything stays put? Something?

Maybe that would cut into efficiency. I don't know. I'm just thinking there's got to be a better way.

Pretty specific numbers there. Someone in particular?

I don't know. These types of companies thrive on efficiency. I expect they've got it figured out.

This whole thing on Reddit is just another basement dweller looking for some upvotes.

Sorry. I edited my response to you. I was looking at your likes received. You only have posted 1100 posts in 3/4 of a year time frame since you became a member here, not 4000. Only.

I wrote that response because it's ironic that someone with your post count in a short time frame is talking about somebody (me) having a lot of time on their hands, as if it took me a long time to make my thread (it took 10 minutes to copy and paste the image URL links from that Reddit thread and write my post here).

I never said it took a lot of time. I was kidding around with you. I don't think averaging five posts a day is anything crazy.
