I’ve seen it happen far too frequently for it to be a coincidence. I cross over and back every day M-F most every week.

Trucking has become a joke in the last few years. Guys sleeping in the fuel isles. Pulling over on the highway to take a piss. Absolutely no respect for themselves or others. Breaking out a big can of whoop ### is the only way to get this industry back but I fear the robots will be in charge by then. By the next generation new drivers will not even be steering wheel holders anymore. Just passengers that will take over at the shipper to back in.

I've never parked on the shoulder for more than a quick load check or emergency but I understand why some truckers may choose to or have to. In my area of the country many of the rest areas are closed and there are few truck stops in the states I run. Even if I get to a truck stop I can rarely find a spot. I hit 2 truck stops last night in Commerce City, CO at 7:30 and not 1 spot was available. I drove for 20 minutes until I found a legal spot on a nearby road.

When you are sitting in a roadside restaurant and you see a truck pull over to the shoulder just past the exit ramp. And exactly 30 minutes later, you see said truck pull out in the travel lane and continue on, what does that tell you????
I have seen this numerous times.Lumper Humper, JoeyJunk, Trucker61016 and 1 other person Thank this. -
