About all my paperwork at the plant, requires 2 signatures. 1 printed.....

 

Keeping the online dating theme going. There has always been a vetting process whether we were aware of it or not. You had to meet a girl in person. Whether that be through church or school or common activities. There was always somebody around you with knowledge of that other person. How many times has one of our buddies saved us from making a mistake? Online, there is no vetting process. You don't know them from anywhere. Therefore know nothing about them, but what they want you to know. The divorce rate is sky high, that is even if folks choose marriage at all. Most folks don't have any common ground anymore. Their relationships are baseless. Other than sex, which is no basis for a long term relationship.

Start a journal. I did this and it had helped tremendously. Something else lost to the past. Went out and bought a nice fountain pen and a nice pencil to sketch with. Had a custom journal made. Pretty cool actually. Something to look back on or maybe my kids will read it someday.

 

Met my 1st wife at a fishing lake. My present wife and I met when out riding our motorcycles. 15 year gap between the 2.

Personally, I don’t give a sh it how anyone meets, it it works out, my hats off to ya lol......

 

You and I probably aren't too far off in our opinion of some of the flaws within the current generation coming up, especially in terms of interpersonal relationships, certain skillsets or even what we may find moral.

Doesn't alter the reality that cultures change and shift over time because that's been part of the human story for a very long time, whether or not it's for the better is something that could be debated into the ground. (Although some of it is most certainly NOT for the better, but I don't wanna get sent to the Gulag for dragging too much into the thread)

I'm not gonna beat up the "kids" that participate in this thread. Don't see eye to eye with 'em all the time but we do share the commonality of being hard working blue collar individuals who'd work our hands to the bone before we'd ask for a hand out. Whether or not they'd rather swipe in whatever direction, or are easily confused by ancient forms of writing isn't something I feel is worth taking them too much to task over.

Now, if they were flying the Hammer 'n Sickle and said certain individuals of that whole movement were their heroes I'd probably find them and let the air out of their tires. Some things even I cannot abide.

 

I agree. However, I don't think I'm beating up on them. And I don't think they are kids. That is the point of a forum, a free exchange of ideas. Whether or not a person engages in the topic or not is up to them. They obviously like the banter or they wouldn't respond to it. I've said it before, there isn't a single person here that I wouldn't set down and eat a meal with. It's all good.
