    Off my wall:

I was running down I-520 with the windows down enjoying the Spring breeze when a small SUV started pulling next to my cab until it matched my speed. I hear a loud "HEY!!!" and I looked down to see both the passenger and rear passenger windows down with a 5 year old in the back and the father in the front trying to get my attention.

They both stuck their arms out and motioned the up and down fist pump (hand signal for honk your air horns). ....Whatever, the worst I can do is freak out the car infront of me and I let out two long loud blasts. I looked down to my left one final time as they took off. Both the (presumable) parents and the child had the biggest smiles and waved as they went about their way.

Not gonna lie, those smiles inadvertently made me smile as well and that made the rest of my day. If you have kids, I encourage you to teach them the trucker horn motion. I rarely ever see it and it does make our long monotonous and stressful days so much better.

You sure they weren’t mocking you, so their uppity parents can say “Now little Johnny, there’s what you don’t want to be”?

There aren't too many "pure joys" that I experience in trucking, but making a little kid light up by pulling the airhorns definitely ranks at the top of them.

Funny you mention this, I enjoy being on a handful of trucking groups on BookFace in my spare time, and I'm surprised at how many miserable curmudgeons go out of their way to justify flat out ignoring some kid trying to get a solid horn blast.

    Keep that happiness alive!

Was sitting at a red light one time and there was a car beside me. Little kid in back seat pumping his arm, blew air horn...car in front of me blows through the red light. last time I did that on city streets.

Not your fault car in front of you is an idiot and not paying attention. Probably was on his/her cell phone and got scared when you pulled your horn.
