    I too have followed your thread running man. In 41 yrs of driving I’ve never had any desire to own or lease a truck but the fact that you have made it work is impressive. Good luck with the new adventure.

    well, I bet either Safety will be calling me soon or I might appear in the next Safety Meeting’s “close calls” video.

    driving along... notice truck ahead of me is “slowing down”... so I slow down... OH CRAP... he’s not not slowing but STOPPING... press that break a bit harder and consider going to his right to give my myself a bit more stopping space... well crud, he’s going to the right too... guess he is having the same thoughts as I am... then notice a car in the lane on my right side... not really wanting to hit them or push them off the road... BRAKE HARDER!!!

    {insert “###### Jim I’ve given all she’s got!}

    come to a stop behind him a bit closer than I ever wish... I pause to await someone running up my own back side... nothing... {whew}

    he missed what was in front of him, I missed him... car on my side seemed clueless ... and no one came knocking at my back door...

    Yes, a blessed day all around.

    the main saving grace we were all coming out of town and not yet up to highway speeds.

    it all happened so quickly...

    and while I was briefly visually consulting my navigator, not really “distracted” with anything other than our normal environment.

    so ya, moral of the story, it happens quick... and need not be distracted to have a close call.

    let’s all be safe out here!!!

    A bit late to the party but I'll wish you good fortune in your new endeavor anyway.
    Reading the tread for the past few years it appears as if FCC has lost their most vocal ambassador and just wish there were more drivers w the attitude you bring to the job out here.
    Once again this week I wish happy trails to another driver.

    runningman0661 and JohnBoy Thank this.

    I'll be ######! Sorry to see you go running man, but glad to see you are going to be home more. I haven't been on here in quite a while myself, but all your post about FCC help me feel more confident about my decision to come here about seven months ago. All in all, I am very happy with FCC. Do you happen to know if they offer the lease purchase program on the SW Regional board? It is something I tried once a long time ago, said I would never do it again, but this is one company I may entertain that idea with. Don't want to give up my weekends at home though LOL

    Since its been quite a while since I posted anything I figured I should give you guys an update. After about seven months on the SW Regional fleet here at FCC I'm still easily averaging 2800+ miles per week and still getting home on weekends. Some weeks are well over 3,000. Every few weeks I will stay out 6 days and burn my 70 just to make a little more money, but not because they require. There were a couple of slow weeks, due to weather and problems with shippers because of the weather, but that's not fcc's fault. A couple of months ago we bought a new house and I took a week off to move and sell my old Property. FCC gave me no problem whatsoever about taking time off. They have been incredibly easy to get along with and are genuine down-to-earth people just like everything I've read in this thread. I really couldn't ask to be treated much better, I was even named driver of the month and received a gift card after only about three months here. The other day my DM contacted me wanting some information and let me know they wanted to feature me in the company newsletter ( I'm not trying to toot my own horn here, just wanted to let everyone know then all you have to do is do your job here and they will treat you great). Thanks again to Running Man for starting this thread, if anyone out there is on the fence about coming over to FCC I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. If you like to run, they will run you as hard as you like. I will try to update again as soon as I can, I apologize, but I just don't find time to get on here very often anymore. Y'all be safe!
