    I get the surge bonuses and have access to the company insurance plan, yes. We o/o's also have a retirement plan bonus system in place, but it is not the same as the company driver plan.

    Yup, pay for o/o at Crete is not great. If all I wanted was money in the short term, I would have stayed a Crete company driver.

    At this point, however, I have a paid-off truck, two years of documentable o/o experience, and have maintained a strong credit rating.

    I also know I am sufficiently self-motivated to drive solid miles without being a w2 employee.

    I fully expect this year to be much better than last, though I likely will not be moving to a company offering a better o/o contract than Crete for another couple months.

    *shrug*

    I had to start somewhere.

    So i need a TWIC but my CDL doesn't match my birth certificate because i have two middle names. My CDL does match my SS card.

    My question is do I go to the Social security place and get my SS card changed or can i goto the DMV and use my birth cert to change my name on my CDL?

    From what i'm reading I need my SS card and birth cert to change my CDL but since they dont match i dont know what to do, and the dmv has a 2 month wait for an appt in VA.

    Has anyone had this issue? I have two middles names on y birth cert, but not on my CDL, and SS card.

    If you need the ss card and birth certificate to match to change your name on your CDL, then it seems like you need to get a new ss card first, then fix your CDL, then your TWIC.

    Or, possibly, you can have your legal name changed in the courts to match your CDL, and that process should lead to your birth cert. and ss card being updated.

    Doing the name change might be a nonstandard though. Up to you.

    Talk to the county where your birth certificate is issued from.

    I called SS admin today and they said i need to send in the mail my application to change my name, my id, birth cert, and social security card and wait for a reply. I will just wait until they allow appointments again. They wont allow any appts they said.

    Are you saying to goto court and ask for a change? Thats possible but may cost some money, and need a lawyer?

    Call the county clerk's office and ask the process. Your not the only one who has done it.
