what ever you use. clean the window and then use rubbing alcohol.

i use the white clear 3m lock and dont have any issues. every now and then i push on the box just to help keep sticking

The 3M velcro is available at Home Depot, Menards, and T/A shops. I’ve seen it at all three.

As for cleaning the goo off, I might have to look into some concentrated, alcohol wipes and soak the area in it. Lots of "failed glue" in that same spot where I wanted it to go.
