Not testing them right is kinda what I thought as well. Since they're under the drivers seat, they may have just tested the group instead of each one separately. A battery with a couple dead cells will bring down the durability of the entire set or give a false reading to the computer about how charged or dead the group is. But what do we know...we iz gist stoopid dryvers...the same group of technicians also said that the inverter is suppose to cut off every time you start the truck...and that melting smell when I use to use my microwave over 6 min is normal. That's exactly what I'll tell Lincoln after it catches fire and burns the truck, trailer and load to the ground...''New Kingstown said that's normal"

 

That could be as well. Not sure how long the batteries last on these opti-idle trucks, mine are original with 216k...but this truck see's all 48 states, so corrosion from all the various ice melt chemicals could have taken it's toll on the wiring as well.

 

That was one of our greatest assets... emphasis on the 1st syllable.

My biggest concern is that they'll make good on their threat to slow my truck down. It's tough enough to get this slug up a hill as it is. 62 mph max would be the last straw.

 

3 messages this week about idling. One from my terminal, 2 were 'tips to reduce idle time'. Amazing...they actually put out more idling messages than recruiting messages this week. I hate to tell them this, but if I were to tell potential recruits about my experiences here since returning...I wouldn't be able to finish with all the negatives before they ran away...if the company found that out, they would probably start deducting anti-recruiting penalties from my check.


On a non-trucking subject. I saw a headline while sitting here doing laundry. Crime rates are skyrocketing in cities where police departments were defunded after the anti-police shopping sprees, er...I mean riots last year...SHOCKING....you mean if we defund law enforcement the criminals don't stop commiting crime?

 

They removed my 2nd pplan going from central Cali to Eugene, OR. Not sure why, but it was a Bud-dummer load, and would have required me to do some vampire shift running, so I won't lose any sleep over it.

Got to my delivery today, next load is suppose to be ready at 1415...1430, still working on it. So, Wally here I come. There must be more than 2 dozen Shaffer trailers here...this Americold location isn't the biggest warehouse in their system, but there are sure a lot of trailers here, ours and many others.
