I'm currently in the above mentioned truck. DD13 motor and DT 12 Auto. What is normal temp for rear axle temps?

I noticed my front got above 200 a few times pulling small hills in SC in 70 to 80 degree weather. Front also stays around 180 to 185 pulling I-80 heavy across PA, even in 40 degree weather. Rear always stays about 25 to 30 degrees cooler than the front.

Sounds on the warm side. Mine are always fairly close in temp. When's the last time you changed the fluid?

I'm sure the fluid has never been changed. Only 116000 on the truck, our company got them at 85000 miles in January

Do they have pumps? With my DD15 and AT12 drivetrain I have temp gauges for both drives and each have diff oil pump pressure readouts as well. But those diffs can come without pumps. That might explain the wide variation in temp. That being said I've never seen mine over 70C (158F). I thinks wise to change those oils and tranny fairly soon, initially. There are going to be initial wear in debris. If you're the O/O it might be too your advantage to change the oils.
