Beware of the CDL school in Missoula Montana

I have a question I joined a trucking company I’m in my two weeks of training when I met my trainer he hadn’t taken a shower for three days three days later he still not taken a shower he does not change his clothes he smells like a pot of chicken soup he’s got a little dog that barks at me all the time the guy never lets me take a break I work for 10 hours straight on a drive no lunch no break we towed a trailer for over 400 miles on my pre-trip inspection I noticed The trailer tire had a chunk out of it the tire was in really bad shape my trainer advised me that he does not refuse loads the trailer bounced up and down all over the road I went down at least a dozen grades he kept on telling me to go faster I thought we were going to crash this little man is the most angriest piece of crap I’ve ever met everything out of his mouth is anger he’s yelling at me all the time he’s about 5 foot tall and 120 pounds I am 225 pounds I am an MMA fighter and a professional martial arts instructor I thought the best thing to do was get off this guys truck before he pushed my buttons I called my fleet manager my fleet manager was angry at me and threatened my job because I wouldn’t work and take the conditions that this little angry man dished out to me I asked him what my payoff price was that I would gladly get a plane ticket and fly myself home my fleet manager went off on me for about a half an hour Telling me I was not entitled to a break For eight hours and told me according to the logbook I had taken my breaks even though I had it not eaten all day for two days straight and reluctantly scheduled me to go on another truck the problem is the fleet manager and this angry little driver are friends the fleet manager is the one that’s going to test me for my CDL license in six days The trainer did admit I had above average skills but I feel that the waters have been tainted it’s like when you badmouth a waiter you know he’s going to spit in your food I am in a real bad situation no breaks driving unsafe trucks how do I get out of this situation any advice would be appreciated unfortunately I made a bad choice any information would help thank you very much

Is your training done in 6 days also , or you just test for your CDL.
Is this school thru Jim Palmer /Roadrunner, id suck it up if its 6 days , you will have bad days and good in your trucking future.
Palmer had some good freight back in the day at Schwans doing depot drops.
Reminds me of boot camp they could be pushing your button to test you.
    Good Luck.

I cannot believe they allow the trainers to have a dog on the truck. I would have never even gotten in the truck from the start had I seen a dog.

You are right. Go home and get a job at walmart. You won't make it in trucking.
About seventy percent of people can learn to drive a big truck but only about ten percent can handle the life style.

Agreed. Should have told them you're allergic to pet dander or something. In no company should a student have to get on a truck with someone's pet. If that dog bites someone the company could be held liable.

On another note. The trainer is the fleet manager's friend because he doesn't refuse loads and runs hard. My guess is the end of that work ethic will be the end of the friendship.

Your anger issues are proof you can't make it in this industry.
Try and channel it into getting your license and making it one year on the road.

That wasn't even necessary man. I was actually on your side til you took that stance. He actually spoke some truth, and you went personal for no reason. That was childish. Trucking is a grown person's world. The immature will weed themselves out quick. Trust me. Now let me talk to you now professionally.......trucking is full of BS. If you're going to do this job, it's a lifestyle change as well. You need to leave that MMA mentality behind. Yes you might be able to kick somebody's ###, but doing that will get you on the unemployment line quick as hell. Now let's talk about your equipment. If a tire isn't right or whatever, you take the initiative and call the company if your trainer will not. Now that you're out of school, and you're out on the road, protect that license. The training period is not going to be roses.......if these inconveniences are killer, ha, wait til your by yourself. Try to get through this training. Then try to make it one year. Then go somewhere better.
