I’m thinking of applying to OD here in Phoenix. Can anyone give me some insight on what to expect if hired on as a line haul driver? Benefits, wages.

They are advertising $98,000 annual average pay for line haul. Is that far from the reality?

Not necessarily. Some wild drivers if they run 6 days all the time will come pretty close to that. It really depends on where you're running to. People with set runs will average around that mark for sure. Probably wouldn't expect that first year maybe since that's the average, but it's definitely not far from reality.

You shouldn't have any issue grossing $98,000. Our current mileage rate is .7088 ,$16 to drop/hook a set plus $3.50 for fueling. So running 2,500 miles a week plus drops/hooks/fueing for an out and back terminal to terminal would gross $101,000 a year. If PHX is running you 600 miles a day then you obviously would gross quite a bit more.

If you're running 6 days then you're grossing alot more than $98,000

Yeah, that's true. I'm thinking from the West region where I run, and there's a lot of sub-500 mile and even sub-400 mile turnarounds with meet and turns over here. Also lots of shuttles which is only hourly. It's definitely a YMMV on specific regions.

Well I'm located in the midwest at a major break. We have short, medium and long runs with all 7 day starts. Our shortest bid is around 350 miles a day with the longest at 642.

@Nole Man if you have the chance to hire into OD Linehaul, take it.
