To go back to this debacle. Checked my settlement. Was paid mileage to my turn around point. Was paid a couple of stops. And since I had to wait. Was paid layover pay. And on top of that. The miles back and forth few times from Fremont to valley.

I’m pleased with how it was handled.

    *non riff raff update*

Took a 34 this weekend at the Loves in Angleton TX. 20 miles from delivery this morning.

Got unloaded in West Columbia TX. My preplan came thru and was able to get everything set up while they were unloading me.

Load of plate steel from Baytown TX going to Columbus NE. There was 4 of us getting loaded down there today. 2 of the trucks were 50’ x 8.5’ permit loads. Didn’t see the 3rd guy.

My load is a 50’ x 10’ permitted load. Good news is FCC pays an extra 10 cents per mile for O/S. And all of the permits were given with the bills from the shipper.

I’ve never hauled oversize before. And the driving isn’t too bad. But the permit routes can be a headache to figure out.

    *flatbed/truck service*

After unloading my oversized load of plate steel in Columbus NE. Get sent to Fremont for truck service. (Due for a grease job and an oil change) But i let my DM know I needed to come by and get the service done 2 days ago. So far everything is going as planned.

As for what I’m going after this. I’ve not asked him much about it yet. Doesn’t really matter too much either, not going home until 4/22.

Probably 10 minutes after I made that post. DM let’s me know my truck was done and asks me/tells me that it’s too late today to take a load to Palmdale CA for Friday(vinyl fencing from York NE), but I can deliver it for Monday (will still make for a good week this week and set me up for a good one next week as well for the miles to get out of Cali) and also tells me there is a load out of Valley(load of pipe) going to Brenham TX (starting to see a pattern) that delivers Friday. (After being on a Texas-Nebraska pattern, I count the miles on what could be my next load to get back to Nebraska for Monday)

I took the Brenham TX option. And 10 mins after leaving shipper, get a preplan for Friday morning. Pickup Plate Steel from Baytown TX... Going to Columbus NE.... Again. Same trip as Monday. This time it’s supposed to be a legal, non permit, load.

So apples to apples, will end up with 200-300 more miles with the Texas Nebraska turn around over the trip to Cali.
