I have a 1999 Volvo VNL64T with Detroit 60 Series and Eaton Fuller 13 speed. The truck idles normally, all the lights work, but has no acceleration reaction when the gas pedal is pressed. Also, some gauges on the cluster do not work. When those gauges work, throttle appears for random amounts of time. When gauges stop working, so does the throttle response. Throttle position sensor replaced, ground and power to ECU are normal and in spec. Intermittent stalling happens at random. When stalling happens, NOTHING works and the truck will not start. Then suddenly after that "dead" period, everything comes back and the truck can start, but gauges still do not work and there is still no throttle pedal response. ALL fuses have been checked and are good.
HELP WITH 1999 VOLVO ASAP, IDLES BUT NO THROTTLE PEDAL RESPONSE

When it is all wacked up and you leave the key on an old test light with a light bulb can do wonders. Battery ground to frame. Frame to engine. Frame to cab. Battery to starter ground.
Then start on the + side.AModelCat Thanks this. -
Tight all the batteries cables, check ecm fuses and frame grounds

There maybe a multi wire connection running along the frame rail coming from the battery box. I had an issue like yours on my KW. That connection had came loose. Electric problems are the worst. You have to trace from A to Z & more. All the best

exact same happened to me. two little power wires from batteries to ecm. replaced connections. working fine
