That might be. Just seems like they would try to find something for you by now.

Honestly, I think they're to hellbent on finding something to ##### at me about...now that they have something, they aren't in any hurry to fix it because they'd have to find something else I did wrong. I truely feel that management isn't happy unless they're on your ### about something.

My trainer at my very first truck driving job gave me a piece of advice that I carry with me even today, “be anonymous” is what he said.

At my old job I went to go fetch some blank BOL’s out of the storage closet, which was in the conference room. Unbeknownst to me the big wigs from corporate were in town having a meeting with the terminal manager and assistant terminal manager. I opened the door and all I heard was the regional manager telling our assistant terminal manager “you’ve only written up 5 drivers last month, so what have you been doing?”. So yes, sadly I can see how this is a real occurrence. If you’re not getting people in trouble for petty crap, you’re not doing your job.

The context of that sentence is missing. If taken at face value, yeah I see your point. They could have been talking about accidents.

If they only wrote 5 drivers up for accidents, that's a good thing right?

All mega carriers have extra trucks. Always.
They just might not want to give them to you.

The problem with the opti-idle not restarting, might not be it's not restarting, but for some reason, it is switching to comfort mode-heat instead of comfort mode - a/c. Yesterday in Ontario CA, it was rather warm outside, so when I sat down to eat my dinner, I had the opti-idle set like you're supposed to. It ran, it got cool in the truck, it shut off. Then, when it was warming up in the cab, it, once again, didn't restart. But when I started fiddling with the temp knob to try to get it to start, rolling it into the red side of the temp made it start, and blow hot air. I had to shut down the truck, and reset everything to get it to go into a/c mode again. Back during the colder months, my bunk heater gave me a few problems staying running, and I tried to use the opti-idle on heat, and it wouldn't work. Now, when it's hot outside, it decides to work on heat mode. I am about at the end of my rope with this truck and this company's equipment in general.

Many carriers are short on trucks right now because of the Covid BS a lot of the truck manufacturers are running behind schedule because they’ve had to cut back on man power in the plants for a while there… All of them are running behind Volvo paccar and Freightliner

Not only the covid crap, but the ports are backed up, so electronic components are in short supply. This deal with the ship getting stuck in the canal in the middle east has actually helped some. They say at one time the Long Beach and L.A. ports had 36 container ships anchored waiting on a dock last month. It was down in low 20's just a few days ago. I can imagine the east coast ports are just as backed up, but not as bad because of the stuck ship blocking some of the east coast freight.
