Hello truckers! I have a problem with oil dripping from crankcase vent , oil is coming out from that tube that goes down . I put one of those maintenance free filter and it didn’t help. Then got a new filter from Cummins and it didn’t help. I got no codes , no black smoke. Just a gallon of oil every 1500 miles.

How many miles on engine? Over 750K and you are probably heading toward engine overhaul. These new engines are not million + engines. If you had it new and maintained it above and beyond then maybe.

Smellfunny Thanks this.

Sometimes it takes a while for answers. I don't get on here as often any longer and I am not a expert by any means so wait and see what others say. I am sure a little amount coming out is ok if you have the free flow non filter in there. An excessive amount is cause for concern.

Does the engine consistently run ‘hot’ or real close to the temp that the engine fan kicks on?
Did you recently change brands of motor oil, and this problem started? -

I forgot about you saying 1 gallon every 1500 miles in my second response. Yeah that isn't good.
