Still though, zero excuse for hitting a stationary object.

The damage on the Pete is from the volvo pulling forward. Meaning the volvo should have waited to make their turn until the tandems were clear of the bumper. Volvo turned to early.

Rugs are supposed to go on the floor, not the ceiling.

Can anyone translate this to English?

You would think that’s how it works.
But on private property doesn’t matter how many witnesses you have. You’re not parked in a designated spot.
I witnessed the same thing. Once cops left I walked over asking the guy if he wanted my info because I saw it happen. He said “ no officer said if the guy that hit me wanted to file a claim against me he could have because I’m not parked in a spot” something along those lines.

And then it comes down to insurance. He’s gonna have to be really lucky to not have to fix his own truck. Trucking sucks like that. Because even when people are at fault after they leave the scene they do what they can to not make it their fault.

If the truck stop has lines; be in them. If there aren’t lines; don’t park on an end (also applies to lined). If you aren’t in a legal spot, insurance could still assign you partial blame.

Avoid the hassle and just choose a good spot if able (sometimes not possible).
