I stop at least every 3-4 hrs. Sometimes more often. In a days work, it doesn’t add much time. Makes the day go much better. Less anxiety. I understand a lot of Drivers want to make time. I do my share of grueling long days. All you’re doing is Driving! Lol. Yes but it can be grueling. You have to think about the potential damage done doing so, day after day, for years. Better for the back, circulation, and mental stamina, to take a 15-30 minute break minimum, a few times each day. You have a choice, might as well treat yourself good. Stop when needed, even when running a tight schedule. Eat, shower, whatever else is needed. Instead of racing to a delivery or pick up, only to wait for hours, and then not having time to do what’s needed. Makes for a much happier life in general.

Get a good breakfast and fuel before heading to the chute. Put em on, check em in 50 miles then 200 miles. If everyone is standing and doing good we stick it in the wind for 350 to 400 then take a short break get a bite to eat and walk around the truck a couple a times. Then hook up and knock that last 500 out stopping once to check em. Put em in a pen and go to bed, no big thing

Im doing open deck and really miles isn't the big concern at this job . We mostly worry about time but boy I sure love and miss those long 2200 mile coast to coast runs . Good answers already here but , like others said have some food and drink go as far as you can then shut down soon as the 10 is up hammer down . Keep a piss bottle don't stop to use the bathroom have some good music or audio books and turn and burn stay out of the truck stops and run like a race horse that needs to piss.

I used to go for seven hours before I stopped but now it's about four then stop bathroom break and walk around the truck, make a sandwich. One thirty minute break and two fifteen works for me ten or ten and a half hour drive time when just driving. About a twelve hour day if I have stops then twelve off.
