I had a similar occurrence in Wyoming several years ago, talked to the safety department and that is a definite No-Go!
Remember; If you don't feel it is safe it probably isn't, and ultimately it is your license and reputation on the line. -
Make a note in your log and on your inspection form that "At 1330, Dispatcher Fred Flatass was aware of the condition of my truck, advised me that it was lawful to operate in that condition, told me to finish the run then take trailer for repair." Then you go scale and note your axle weights. If you're legal, go. If not, then DON'T go.
Be aware of the decreased traction and braking.
The guys saying to find another company, I don't agree. If you can do the run legally and safely, well, that's what you were hired to do, right?jbatmick Thanks this. -

Get a scale ticket and do the math, and remember, there are exceptions to every rule. It's your job to know what applies to you. No load is worth negative points on your csa score.
