Spent many days, and nights with dad in a Trans-star 238 5x4 on hendrickson pulling set of steel doubles hauling coils out of Pittsburgh and Cleveland. It was temporary about a year waiting on a new FLC due to his being wrecked. I couldn't imagine having to work that hard.Brettj3876, God prefers Diesels, p608 and 1 other person Thank this. -
I’ve been scrolling through the pages and most if not all of you seem to be drivers... well I’m actually a broker for Landstar.. let me help you out. If you happen to see the same loads posted by different brokers i.e. Landstar, TQL, CH Robertson etc. that simply means the Customer has multiple brokers quoting the same lanes for the best price. My customer tells me frequently that they have 3 or 4 different companies quoting the same load for him!
So if you see TQL with a Houston, TX to Los Angeles, CA, 35k lbs, Flatbed load for $3,000
And CH Robertson with the same load posted for $2,900
And see Landstar posted for $2,500. We did not “double broker” nor “steal” nor “take” someone’s load( it’s not their load anyways, most likely he’s quoting it) we are all just quoting the same customer to get him the best price possible (all customers care about is how much money they are spending) it sucks for both brokers and drivers but this is what’s happening.
So like I said if you see a broker posting it out to the Landstar board, DAT, truckstop.com where ever, we are simply quoting it or shopping rates for our customers. Not double brokering. Landstar takes 50% of the profit anyway you wouldn’t make #### DBing and to work for Landstar you have to meet a quota. And, It’ll be #### hard to meet that quota if you’re only making $20 here or $20 there DBing. In order to be hired by LS you have to have customers and profits totaling atleast $40k a year if I remember correctly.
also we are independent contractors for Landstar. I know someone had askedslow.rider and disoba Thank this. -

Like plenty others have said. There are some good LS people but there is also a whole heap of liars and crap. It’s easier to just not do business with anyone from there.JimmyTwoTimes, dirthaller, p608 and 3 others Thank this.
