I've seen that. They're harmless, just noisy. Dogs love them and will eat them until they just can't eat anymore. Doesn't harm the dogs in any way.

The first time I went to Florida, sitting on my friend's front porch, I couldn't believe how loud they were. They almost sound like the sound effects from a science fiction movie the way they make noise in unison then quiet down and get loud again.
