I have boost leak somewhere. Especially when it's cold outside ill start climbing a hill when I hear loud pfffttt and it looses power for split second. They sell those adapters that bolt onto turbo inlet. Do I need size 5" or bigger? Any better ideas to check for boost leak?

Your symptoms don't sounds like a boost leak to me. Wouldn't just loose power randomly for a split second

It should be a constant leak then. It really sounds like the EGR valve is getting forced open, and that noise you're hearing is turbo bark from air rushing back into the turbo after lack of drive pressure under load. Which engine do you have, and what year?

    Smoke.

Once you buy a smoke machine you will throw the pressure test adapters in the garbage. Just hook it up and sit back and watch.

Plus it finds the smallest of leaks.

Theres tons on the market. Most commonly used in automotive evap system testing.
