Just go to a mega, since you don’t have any experience they’ll probably give you a trainer. So you’ll have your refresher.

Sometimes I think of chinatown as a used car salesman, who normally sells quality cars but every once in awhile has to try and sell that pos rusty old chevy cavalier that’s been sitting in the back row for too long.

You might need a refresher but you don’t need training on how to use an automatic.

That’s why they buy them in school busses and big trucks. So anyone can drive it .

but telling a company you have a bad back and can’t drive a manual might be a deal killer too.
Not because of the can’t drive a manual but because of the “I have a bad back “ part

you could Probabaly get the auto restriction put on the CDL by the dmv if you ask for it .

Who cares. Is that why they put power steering, air conditioning, and a single stick(as opposed to twin sticks) in trucks? So anybody can drive it? The old timers didn't need all that so I guess all the supertruckers can't be real truckers anymore.

I think once some drivers separate their ego from how the shifting gets accomplished in their truck, they'll become real truckers.

    No.
What I was saying is I thought you were wanting training on how to drive an automatic.
Which is so easy you don’t need any training . You punch the button marked D and mash the accelerator.

you might need a refresher for the HoS and stuff but there should be a company that will hire you as is .

have you contacted the local community colleges and co tech schools and asked about automatics training?

and contact the state dmv and see if they can place the automatic restriction on your CDL

I’d bet they will if you request it .
