Did you ever find someone to do this? I’m working on a similar load now, and cannot find a hauler willing to drive 400 miles.

 

It's not that you can't find anyone to move it, as long as the rate is right it will get picked up. It's really very simple, if the rate is right it will get picked up; in other words, the higher the rate the higher your chances of getting a proper carrier with proper credentials sooner than later.

 

I'm curious on the other questions...how to find a respectable transporter? I've considered buying a car while I'm out and having it transported to my town but haven't had time to research the process.
All I've heard about is the massive amount of spam I'm going to get by inquiring on the wrong websites....;-(

 

Veritrade only came back with import/export and equipment hauling... Is that spelled right?

 

Any gig that you list online will get you a lot of spam. Heck, the accountant that did my taxes one year led to "IRS inspector" with heavy accent threatening my arrest if I didn't send him the money "I owed" right away. Cussing someone out never felt that great at that time. So make sure you don't put your phone number at any of them and you won't get hundreds of calls. Spam emails are really easy to avoid by clicking and reporting it as spam so you won't get any future emails from that sender (or they will get right to the spam folder where they belong).

 

I’ll give you some insight of what happens when you fill out an online request for a quote.
Your name and Load information is compiled along with others and then sold to multiple brokers as sales leads.
Then you get inundated with many phone calls and emails from brokers who bought the list and are now trying to sell you their services.
At the same you are receiving all the annoying contacts
from brokers the very same brokers are posting your load on the load board ( without a contract or your knowledge) with a price on it they have pulled out of their #####.
When we as carriers call on the listed load we get the famous “ I have to call the customer and check “
They then call you back and say we have a truck waiting to pickup your car and that you should take it for their price because there might not be another truck available.
Not exactly the most ethical or in some cases legal processes in the world.
