Should i buy a CB radio

And when you run the same lane day in and day out you always run into the same few drivers doing the same thing. I don't talk much on it but when i see one of the other local yocals give em holler and let em know it's all clear or where the bears are sitting. They'll do the same for you

I don't communicate with it, but I do get information from it.

 

Short answer....yes....buy one. A couple of months of fuel points will get you a nice radio at PFJ, TA or Loves.

 

Most of these newer "drivers" don't have the room on the dash with the 3 or 4 screens they have staring them in the face! Phone,tablet,GPS,etc! Can't let the CB interfere with their TV show!

That would drive me crazy. Especially at night when you pass someone and they have multiple screens all lit up Lol. That can't good for your vision. My 7in gps mounted at the top of the windshield is plenty. Most people have them mounted down low too instead of up and out of the way

 

I carried a $30 handheld one that worked for a one mile radius.

I had an extra incase I needed to talk to someone.

Came in handy in Canada not so much in the states except a rare receiver.

If I wanted to listen to drivers I would just turn on Jonesie.

WTF is up with all the gps’s in front of them. Christ 30 something years and I get around just fine with a road atlas and a phone. They scared or just to #### stupid to understand a map. I get they are useful but more than one telling you the same crap. Sheesh talk about distraction

 

Just changed runs again and company has me in a rental whiles some new trucks are on order. Unfortunately there is 'NO Cd Radio' where I find it helps when working Regional on the Highways. Back in the 90's it was rare for a Trucker 'Not' to have a cb radio. Trucking has significantly changed.

 

I have nothing on my dash or windows. My gps is in my passenger cup holder. It’s useful for last mile turns and such, that’s why it’s out of the way. Not needed much lol
