Ive been to that whitestone place. Really good paying loads comeing out of there usually. Wish i got more of those. Especially the nice long cross country ones. Always enjoy them long high pay loads.

@Arctic_fox they were definitely off their game yesterday, not sure what was going on, seemed short staffed to me. Loaded me light, and an hour and a half to boot. @J/Cope79 I’ve spent a lot of time up there, we haul a bunch of aluminum cast and turnings up that way.

Nice pic again @Trashtrucker1707 i see also that it’s not just a KC thing in terms of everywhere I go I seem to be behind a Beelman truck. Those guys are everywhere. That “PPE” sign has me wondering, have you seen an uptick in safety regulations at places you go? I mean good Christ we go to some rock quarries, with piles on the ground and nothing overhead and get chastised for hopping out to walk 14 feet into the scale house trailer without a hard hat, vest & safety glasses. I guess it’s a liability thing but my god. I can see at scrap yards with mags flinging stuff around, or instances like that. But when I’m in a wide open lot, I feel the risk of my head safety is low. And if something does go that wrong enough on flat open ground to need a hard hat, it probably isn’t going to help anyway. It’s just getting ridiculous.

Ended up doing cold mix today out of ottawa all day today after my scrap load got delayed. My truck didnt fit under the tower so it was a whole thing too. So many confused dumptrucks over my having to back in each time so i didnt rip a mirror off due to being just an inch too wide and having both mirrors touch the tower. Also i am so SO glad i have a mandoor now. 20210422_141522.jpg
Getting this crap out would have been fun without one. Still need to find me a good high end vibrator though.

@motocross25 i haven’t seen much of a change, I’ve seen some signage up but I don’t think I’ve ever thrown a hard hat on in that place, a respirator probably wouldn’t be a bad idea though, the dust in there is unbearable. That beelman truck in front of me was running all the way up to porter indiana, I figured he was out of Birmingham based on the tiny KW he was driving, kinda shocked when he said where he was going.

@Arctic_fox i haul a bunch of that cold patch, be careful with it in the colder months as it will basically become a brick and not want to go anywhere, anti-freeze has always been good to me in that situation.

Yea man years ago when I applied at Beelman before I moved up to KC I thought I’d just be clunking around St. Louis. I was shocked when they said “you’ll be going to Alabama and Georgia a lot”. Sheesh. They run those day cabs like sleeper trucks and just get em hotels. We unload scrap right by their river terminal in Chicago and man that place is BUSY. Good for them tho. What you thinkin of the supercross season so far? I’m guessing you saw MaCadoo’s crazy crash?

That should be plural "crashes", Atlanta was tough on that poor dude, I appreciate the determination but he hit the ground hard way too many times, some guys were basically petitioning the AMA to "bench" him because they thought he was out of control. My opinion, racing is racing, crap happens and if he felt up to it theres no reason he shouldn't have been able to rejoin the race.

Finally the end of a busy week!! It’s crazy around Kansas City with the weather and now fertilizer season. It seems the loader at one of the gravel yards we load at found a soft spot. Apparently it took 2 rotators and 2 heavy duty tow trucks to get him set back up. No word yet on the operators under garment condition.

That must have been a hell of ride. Busy week for us again, finally got the truck figured out for the most part, driving as straight as I think it's ever going to be, unfortunately been pretty unimpressed with the Anthem as a whole but so be it, hopefully getting in to something new this year as they tend to upgrade me every 2 years. Some kind of seasonal flu caught up with me this week, absolutely knocking me on my butt by Thursday, I'm convinced there's nothing much worse than being sick as a dog for days at a time trying to get back home, fortunately feeling quite a bit better today but still have a ways to go to get back to feeling 100%.
