I hear ya. I pulled a refer for 10 years and again for a few months in 2019. Didn't take me long to remember why I don't like pulling a refer anymore. I can't stand grocery warehouses. I'd take $10k a year less easy to avoid those. I'm not here to tell you that you need to charge, I would never do that. Just offering up why some guys might not want to hang around. Money isn't everything... Stay persistent and you'll be fine.

That place is living up to its reputation. Now, Imagine to go through this more than once a week...unless you get paid like a bank presidentBrettj3876 and RStewart Thank this. -
The only thing I can’t stand is their check in process at Bozzuto’s. I usually don’t have a problem. They need a bigger staging area. I’m always stuck on the street waiting for them to call me, where you aren’t supposed to be,

The load of dry groceries paid $1600 from ES3 York, PA and it was a night delivery. Had it been for the morning then the whole day would be wasted there. I don't know if I want to repeat this though.Brettj3876 Thanks this. -
Now that all that is wrapped up, it’s nice being in the road and just working. That Volvo was on my nerves, it wasn’t breaking down or anything, just terrible fuel mileage. For Q1 this year, my truck, International with the A26 was 8.97, that Volvo got 5.8. I’ve tried everything with it and I couldn’t get the numbers up.
I think this month will still turn out good though. Even though I had 10days off, I should still hit 25k or greater revenue. Focusing on shorter runs and multi stops. Nursery stuff is moving and did a couple of those this month.Dave_in_AZ, Brettj3876, Constant Learner and 2 others Thank this. -
I’ve been doing a lot of multi stop loads since last year when the pandemic started. I recently setup with a broker that does some doozy kind of freight. This one I’m on, I had to pick up 2 stops and take it to their cross dock, and they loaded me with 12 drops to OH, 700ish loaded miles, and a lot of them are driver unload. I don’t know which is worse, unloading trees or unloading these heavy boxes of frozen stuff. These are mostly street deliveries too, 4 of the 12 drops are warehouse big names, the rest are little shops.

I love loads like that but I expect to get paid well to keep it all straight and handle all the little details that come up along the way.
They can’t just give them loads to any jerk off the street.Lostkeys, RStewart, Dave_in_AZ and 4 others Thank this. -
RStewart, 062, Tug Toy and 1 other person Thank this.
