I like old stuff that rattles... you know it’s breaking when it rattles more... I don’t like stuff that breaks silently... lol

Fuels a tax write off, if you can’t afford fuel you have no reason to be in business

my 285” wheel base turns just fine, I just laugh at these guys that crank the hell out of a trailer to the point of touching the cab so the tires start spinning in the opposite direction, but I guess if your not paying for bushings or tires you don’t really care

Using that logic in the aero vs non aero argument is just foolish. It’s not about what is affordable, but more about keeping more of what you make.

At one time I was in the hood crowd, but these days I’ll keep the fuel savings in my pocket.

and there’s nothing wrong with that, to each their own, there’s not really a right or wrong answer here, just whatever YOU want to do with YOUR business, personally as long as my bills are paid and I have a decent emergency fund I’m good with putting the money back into the business instead of uncle Sam’s pockets

aero truck or not if your profit margin is that slim you probably do have other issues

GM's latest redesign was it for me. I don't find it visually appealing at all. Silverado-HD-GMT400.jpg

Not a GM/Chevy guy but I have to say the top design does look better!

As for hood vs aero... the 2012 aeros discussed in this thread, when it began, are not aeros anymore. They are outdated fuel guzzlers in comparison to the 2022 models. I'm assuming everyone who bought the 2012 aero has moved on with each aerodynamic change to their favorite model?!?!? The hood is still a hood and has held its value....

    The top design is outdated.

    That was 1990s.

    The bottom looks better. 2020s

I think people should just drive what they want and what makes them happy. What kills me is when the people with a hood feel the need to justify it. “If your rate is high enough then mpg doesn’t matter”, stuff like that. Just say this “I like my truck and I enjoy driving a long hood”. I’ve thought long and hard about buying a hood, but for me it’s not about the mpg’s. I don’t think I would be happy in a narrow cab. I don’t care for the W990 or the 567 Pete so I will get another 579. Yes the fuel mileage will be nice but honestly that is not even the top reason why I will get another one.

My favorite looking truck is the lone star followed by the Pete 386 then the Coronado.
If I was gonna buy one I’d buy one of the trucks I drive at my current job lwb 386 with the c13
It gets 7mpg with me driving and that’s incredible. That’s loaded with steel or AG equipment.

the crapscadia on the other hand is about gutless gets 5mpg on a good day and if you look at my threads can’t get a CB to work and it’s the one I’m stuck with regularly.

Well, my 379, 280"wb with a 6nz got roughly 7.43mpg from Idaho through Washington, Oregon, Utah, Wyoming, Iowa, Nebraska, Illinois this week. I can't complain. That's with my big Ole moose pusher bumper on aswell.
