I was reading Ford is building F150s without some computer components and storing the trucks on the lot until computers show up.

Heard GM halted production on the Colorado/Canyon and has removed equipment like active fuel management from the Sierra/Silverado due to component shortages.

Yeppers. Rent it out, and the driver gets in a wreck... Tough luck as your insurance doesn't cover commercial usage.

Not sure if it’s the same site but you can rent private motorcycles also

Who in their right mind would either rent their bike?
Or rent someone’s non maintained bike only to have something fail and cause a wreck?

    bzinger Thanks this.

I believe they're fixed mileage, not length.

They did indeed! The auctions were full of turnbacks last summer. And now, because they are the major source of late model used cars, dealers are having a tough time finding late models for their lots.

There's scuttlebutt floating around that Ford may ship the 150's to the dealers with the OBD dongles that let them run, instead of storing them around the plants.

This is correct, specifically in Hawaii. They shipped a lot of the rentals back to the mainland when tourism plummeted so they can keep the cars moving and making money. I've actually seen a few and even rented a car with HI plates here in Louisiana.
