People Express Transport in Calgary was just placed into receivership. Apparently they had about 100 drivers, according to Safer.
They claim on their website to be Western Canada’s second largest meat and produce carrier. -Which I thought was hilarious considering they only have 60 power units. Lol

Unfortunately their steering wheel holders will be scooped up by the usual suspects to continue the carnage.

Including the absolute most psycho nutcase driver I ever met, had the misfortune of working with him at my first ABL contractor, before I got my own show. The guy literally ran people off the road, and when he finally got canned from the contractor we worked for. He had a BMW 3 series pushed up against a pole, with a lady inside screaming on the phone to 911, and he was raming his truck repeatly into the BMW when the cops showed up. Anyway, I thought for sure he would end up in prison. But 6 months later, there he was at the Flying J, fueling up a People Express truck lol. Caravan, Rig, Lightspeed are a few that are on that level also.Canadianhauler21 and God prefers Diesels Thank this. -
Hopefully some of their customers will go broke too. They're as complicit in the race to the bottom as the carriers that drop their pants to get the work.

I had a good run in reefer, made my money, and glad I called it when I did (I could have quit a month earlier, before I had a burnout lol) cause the whole industry is in a flaming tail spin now! I honestly can't wait to see who's gonna bite it next.joey8686, Canadianhauler21 and not4hire Thank this. -
Looks like Royal Bank is closing more businesses. This store is our local truck stop while we wait to unload at Cargill Clavet Canola plant.
Store has never been late or missed a payment, but RBC said their numbers don’t look good. Apparently having decreased traffic due to covid is not an excuse.
Forced closure of Clavet, Sask. business has nearby community puzzledPhantom Trucker and not4hire Thank this. -
They’re clearly evaluating businesses and dropping the risky ones off their balance sheet.
Tough times must be in the forecast if they’re this defensive now.uncleal13, BigHossVolvo and not4hire Thank this. -
