I bet it would look awesome with flames blowing out every window... only to go away when they turn off the fuel supply.

Got up this morning, sent in a qualcomm message asking for a load. Hour or so goes by, phone rings. It's dispatch! They want to know if I'd be willing to rescue a load.

That question always confuses me. Am I allowed to say "No"? It certainly seems that way. What if *everybody* says "No"?

And why *wouldn't* I want to rescue a load?

And why are you asking me if I want a load after I already sent in a QC message asking for one?

    It puzzles me.

In any case, after letting dispatch know that I'd be fine with rescuing a load, he said that there was another driver he tried to call to run the rescue, because the driver in question is on hometime and lives literally 5 minutes from where the load delivers (and, thus, about 20 minutes from where the load was parked awaiting rescue). The reason the driver didn't want to rescue the load? "He lives with his parents and he didn't want to inconvenience them by making them run him back to his truck."

    Good thing I was available.

It's Monday.....Finished a reset in WM today. Was supposed to grab a load going to Walmart Sutherland VA. Get up and fuel and decide to take out an advance to get my truck washed being it was all muddy and grimy. Go inside to get it and register froze up....waited there an hour and a half for the manager call ppl up to fix the register. Manager gave me free breakfast and coffee though for waiting patiently. Go get my truck washed and go to the yard to hook my load. Trailer not on the yard. Figured the local maybe used a different trailer so I waited for my DM and load planner to show up. Found out the local picked up the wrong load yesterday and dropped it on the yard. So ended up with a live load of furniture from MS to Tempe AZ instead, cool, longer run. Get to the warehouse and load not supposed to pickup til tomorrow.....but warehouse manager said might be able to load it today cuz the paperwork was ready and had to have somebody from the local store bring it over. Will see what happens.....might get detention pay for all the head aches today, I hope.

Seems to be a theme today. I got a load assignment to pick up a load of canned tomatoes in Elwood, IN, appt time 1:00pm. Got there on time, went to the shipping office, found out the load isn't due to be loaded until tomorrow at 1:30pm.

Wound up picking up a BH load to Sarasota which I'm gonna swap with someone tomorrow because I got hometime this weekend.

Finishing up a reset here in lovely Colton California. This is what I was left with yesterday at 2pm when I went off duty. 56 minutes left on my 70 with 4294 miles, and 2 extra stop offs behind me since leaving the house last Wednesday at noon. 3668FA99-9016-4A30-A154-DB7D21E475C1.jpeg

Here’s my DM update. Still running DMless after 2 weeks and loving it. Hoping to get the load computer for self dispatching soon.
