On second glance, yes.

 

Tumbler Ridge is a beautiful area in the mountains. I almost moved there in 1994, but it was a company town back then. At first they said I couldn't rent a house because I didn't work for one of the two mines in the area (I was oilfield and we had a TON of work around there). They changed their minds, but by that time I had rented an acreage just outside of Taylor (which was a better option anyhow).

 

A few years later when the mines were closed they were selling houses for peanuts. A house that today is $350,000 was $25,000-$30,000. Should have bought one 20 instead of the lots and houses I did spend my money on... lots of whiskey and ##### houses.

 

I hardly ever venture to BC anymore. I'm a 'berta boy now!
