The one Popeyes in Bed Stuy i used to do would come out and block traffic for us. Just one co driver alone wasn't enough to stop the craziness Lol
Ok... this is what you have to look forward to.

I guess I'm spoiled. Run lots of Border Freight (southern) into the Midwest, Carolinas, Tennessee. Occasional trip into SoCal. Lots of drop/hook and open appointment times. City traffic, navigation and parking are never an issue. Great job for an old guy closing in on retirement.
WesternPlains, slow.rider and Linte_Loco Thank this. -

We used to have a customer in Newark, NJ that had a yard right near the corner of I280 and route 21. 6 lane feeder road leading to the interstate, had to wait for the light at the end of the block to stop traffic then hurry up and try to line up with a roll-up gate in a chain link fence just off the curb. The gate was just wide enough to fit thru with 6- 10" to spare on either side, but you had to hit it perfectly square as there was no wiggle room past the gate.
If you had to pull up to reset, the light had already changed and you had 3+ Lanes of angry NY bound commuters barreling down on you and they would not stop. I would have all 3 Lanes blocked and they would be going around me front and back as I was trying to get lined up for the gate. Nothing was off limits including the sidewalk.
I just learned to ignore them and do my thing and if one of them was dum enough to drive behind a reversing tractor trailer and got hit while doing so be it.
Thankfully that customer is long gone.WesternPlains and slow.rider Thank this. -
Did a load in downtown Seattle where I just blocked multiple lanes for a while . A bunch of workers held traffic for me , load was Laredo to Seattle into a high rise.
