700+ pages is alot to even skim through. Why I asked instead. Unfortunately I don't have hours to spend on the phone

Think big box distribution centers, construction supply stores, farms and it's not a hard job, but the life is hard, for me anyway. It's very time consuming. Lots of waiting. But you can let broker and Poly know about delays, write in/out times on bills and surprisingly sometimes you do get paid for it. I got $200 detention pay on a recent check.

If you haul a load from our factory to a Chicago/Detroit/Jersey etc suburb, then they have to use brokered freight to get you back to one of our factories. Lately I have been hauling freight back from the Northeast to those Dollar big box warehouses that dot the Southern Oklahoma landscape and then I deadhead back to Grand Prairie.

Whether it works depends on what is going on in one's personal life. I lived in Grand Prairie when I was young, but when I came back to work here I had a house 1200+ miles away and that didn't work out too well for a single guy. I brought my car down here, ended up eventually getting rid of the house and now my life revolves around here. Mail comes here, local credit union, live out of truck and stay at hotels on my days off. I'll sleep on the yard if temperature is below 73, but a lot of times its just too hot.

Lots of nice apartments in Grand Prairie, with more being built. Lots of fast food options within 2 miles. Back in the day all they had was a couple of Braums and What a Burger. If we wanted McDonald's we had to go to Arlington.

Does anyone have the new Omnitracs in their truck? I just logged in for the first time on it and it won't let me go on personal conveyance.

Nope. I’m still stuck with the old one that takes 45 minutes to start up. Also the touchpad stopped working for 5 days, and I had to plug in a mouse until the touch screen randomly started working again.

It resolved itself. On yours, it can probably be fixed remotely with a 5 second phone call. They don't want us to know that though. It's supposed to he a secret. Don't tell anyone I told you. Appreciate it.

    Are they short drivers now?

I just got back to the yard in Grand Prairie and before I arrived, I got a call from outbound asking when I would be ready for a new load. I had not put myself on the board as I was planning to take some days off.

I have never gotten a call from Grand Prairie outbound before asking me to put myself on the board

Anyone out of the Henderson yard? How are the trucks? Did the internationals that kept breaking down get upgraded? Governed speed? Cameras in trucks?

I don’t work there, but have a couple of friends that do. The shop remains to be the problem child of the outfit. No cameras and the trucks are governed at 68.
