Yup. Another nice thing here is they handle most of the paperwork. I can't stand paperwork. I'd rather pay someone else to do it and spend the time pulling another load instead. Somebody might make a little more money than us even after doing all the paperwork himself, but as far as I'm concerned, he can have it. I'm happy, and there's plenty of room to level up at one's own pace. There's lots of ways to succeed out here on the road, and the one that makes you happiest is the one you'll work the hardest. To each his own.
I seen some companies paying 88% to the owner operators

I ran my own numbers for several years and have also leased on
A good company that you lease to may at times ( certainly not all times ) have a little better paying freight than you could find on your own therefore offsetting that bottom line
Sure you can grab a customer here and there but 1 truck can’t be as servicing to a customer than a company with 300++ unless you are more local or regional and the shipper keeps you running either by having enough loads to toss you one or they’re small enough to wait for your return
Many guys have their wives handle the office side but don’t figure a pay rate for that, they just figure it all goes to the same bank but any help should be factored in
Insurance is higher for own numbers at first if new but will go down and I think that is closer to a wash
We all pay insurance one way or another as it’s most definitely not freeVampire Thanks this. -
