We all make mistakes. Just learn from it. I bet it never happens again.
Around 2004-06 Fontaine has a batch of brand new 5th wheels. Two things happened. They either unlatched after tug, and visual. Or they just didn't unlatch period. Had to torch jaws, or burn pivots out. Just because its new, isn't a reason to thoroughly do your job. -
Cowboyrich Thanks this.

To be frank this is a used truck, so when i say new i more mean new to me. Its also a junk heap and is constantly breaking. Who ever owned it before me did a piss poor job of maintaince as i have learned. Hell just dropped $10k on TWO tows, a pair of nox sensors after just replacing those SAME nox sensors 6 days before, a dosser valve, erg cooler, SCR sensor and a few other goodies 3 days ago and i am currently on the side of the road waiting on a $1500 tow because SUPRISE max derate for def quality....again. hit me up in a convo sometime and ill show you some of the #### that has broken on it. -

Best not to become complacent with anything. I have never had one fail on me. But mines is installed, maintained and driven by myself.
I do not run wrecker anymore. But when I did we responded to something like 15-18,000 calls a year. Have no idea how many were dropped trailers. In parking lots, house hold driveways, and right out on the highway. Miles from the drivers last stop. They can hang on, don't allways fall off right away too.
