dude, I have a rack you can have, it is a Merritt, all it needs is transfer your chain hangers over from the bulkheads and maybe bins. Since you weld or you can bolt them on. Pretty much like this.

I really wish I didn't have more to add to this. But I made a mistake that I ain't made in almost 6 years.
I jumped the bloody fifth wheel. Worst yet, with a mech RGN. And in hindsight I figured out why I did it. Cuz I still had my mirrors kicked out for that load behind me. And apparently that threw me off just enough. Still swear I felt the rollers on the ramps though. Idk.
Idea one, which was chain the neck raise the suspension put blocks under the deck lower suspension. Still liked another half inch for me being able to clear the fifth wheel.
So I yanked off the mud flaps and literally Austin powered my way, painstakingly with bags dropped. Out sideways. Cuz naturally as we sit here waiting for the site to call us in everyone already went home for the day.
Fortunately I had help from another driver here who told me some real horror stories of either doing exactly what I did. And many many neck related horror stories.
Figures I get all hyper aware of everything else I'm doing but I neglect that one thing that I think I know how to do. -

When I had my hotshot I was running from Louisiana to San Antonio but I had already ran a crap load of hours and parked at the flying J in Channelview to catch a few hours of sleep.Woke up and didn’t do a walk around like I usually do and didn’t realize that a bobtail had parked alongside my trailer and I made a left turn and caught his front wheel and bumper.
staceydude, FerrissWheel and cke Thank this. -
Added another mistake. Went into the tire shop to see if they had 225x70 in stock , cool they do. Pull infront of bay 1. Problem, I cant. Locked myself out, key is in the ignition. But hey no problem I have my spare key hidden somewhere on the trailer. Problem I never tested that key when I got the truck. It doesn't fit.
I'm going to be making a few copies when I get home.
50$ later im in the truck.Gearjammin' Penguin, staceydude, Dadetrucking305 and 4 others Thank this. -
I've enjoyed reading this thread, but now I guess it's my turn to add to it. I did this today, drove about 20 ish miles with 8 of my binders sitting on the catwalk. FML.
