I had delivery to middle school in NJ. I called for directions and nice superintendent of the school or something. He said we will meet you and I could just follow then to the school. It was summer so they had be there to unload me anyway. I thought it doesn't get any easier then this.
He was leading the was down residential road to school. It was only way in, and I see home owner running to my truck from his yard. He was mad and yelling something. I stopped, he was pointing to top of trailer yelling he was calling the cops. The cable TV wire got pulled from the guys house and a couple other house and was all on top of my trailer. The cable tv wire from pole to the houses was to low. Lady cop was very nice, she called cable company to come look. They never showed up. She said it was the cable TV company responsible for low wires. She help remove the cable from trailer and said I could leave. No ticket or anything.
How many of you have had to call the police to help get out of a jam?

Happened to me twice, and would do it again in a heartbeat rather than get into a situation I can't get out of.
First time I missed a turn in PA on my 2nd day solo. Second time was in Birmingham, couldn't figure my way back to the interstate late at night.rachi, slow.rider, Labrador and 1 other person Thank this. -

Once, Chicago low bridge. Had to back out into an intersection. Not a big deal, apparently that bridge gets it a lot.

Another time I had delivery to Key West Florida. I called cops before getting their to see if I need some kinda of escort or something. They said no just call if I get stuck or in trouble. I had to take entire intersection to make a couple turns. If I couldn't make the turn, backing up was not option without the police. I would not recommend anyone go to the Navel air station in Key West.

Blind side backing out onto a busy road is the perfect scenario for police help from my experience.

No, Sometimes they are the most helpful by not doing anything, like being double parked in Queens, and he is writing everyone on the street a ticket, Or looking the other way while you go down a one way street the wrong way.
