But it comes to the officer through his boss so if he was incorrect, it will be changed. I run around 50% but am cautious about the content and feel like I'm gonna win 75%.
The OP is thinking too much about this. Every violation while driving or with a team will show for the past two years on your PSP. So does every accident report that actually makes it to the FMCSA, and a good number don't, will also show for 5 years.
The PSP is a tool and guys in my position look at it and make it part of our evaluation to put someone to work.
Equipment violations are not the issue, I'm looking for more sinister stuff, log falsification and other things that show a disregard for the safety of the general public. Accidents, big speeding tickets, hit and run, suspensions on the MVR are more important than forgetting a MVIR. Take a chill pill.

dataQ is a site designed to ignore drivers complaints. All they did was feed me S! Asked my boss if he could do any good. Two days later he shows me a talk with Ca. Hwy Patrol. They’ll get it removed from FMCSA records.
FMCSA shouldn’t even have found out in the first place. Was a registration problem. CO hadn’t updated registration in their computer. Cop said nothing official. Just look into it when you get back to CO.
Many CA cops won’t write up things like this. Simple administrative errors etc. They don’t want to drown in tickets/paperwork.
I’ve had no luck even getting a copy of a ticket. Or libel on hire right. They’ll feed this driver BS. Give me a link to an answer etc. Nothing on the link.
or with the above. I requested they provide the ticket or inspection. I knew there wasn’t one. dataQ provided an inspection from another driver. Another state. Another carrier. Different ‘violation’. Had nothing to do with me.
I’m forced to assume. If I want any action. I have to hire a lawyer. -
Sounds like your problem is with hirerite, no so much with cvsa.
Only way it's on your psp report is if it was listed as a violation on a cvsa inspection report. If it was it means you didn't have a valid registration at the time the report was created. If that's the case, of course dataq will fail. It's to fix incorrect data, it's not a dispute system to get correct data removed.Last edited: May 6, 2021
wis bang Thanks this. -
You need to straighten them out on the cvsa report. I have the Ca. Hwy Patrol taking care of it.
Did you bother to actually comprehend what I wrote? -
Psp is 3 years. Unless they changed it.
It only matters to the company 2 years. -
While I won’t go into comments on the violations, the relationship with Penske matters.
if it is a leased vehicle, then the irp and “periodic inspection” are two company issues (unless you are talking about Pretrips). Even if you don’t have the stickers, proof of irp can replace the stickers with some excuse, some officers get it. Inspections are company issues.
If the truck is a temp truck, and these things are missing, then it is on Penske.
my suggestion for you drivers is learn how to build good habits, make a list of things that you have to do, print it off then stick it somewhere you can see it. Check off each item like you are a pilot and getting ready for a flight. Do this ever time for at least a month or three and reinforce it as a habit, you will be better off. -
Every time I stop, on Peoplenet, I log inspection in the drop down menu that comes up when I go "On Duty Not Driving". Covers your keister regarding periodic inspections during your trip. Makes your log look better when you are inspected.
