Ugh health insurance!

To get in the health care with pre existing you need to do it November or December. Idk about mid year, unless you got married or lost a job that has you covered. There is a list of big things that allow you to sign up mid year.

 

Call a reputable insurance broker, not an agent in your area. Agents represent a single company, and a broker can get you a quote on any insurance carrier selling in your state. Don't call insurance companies directly. The cost will be determined on where you live, how old you and your dependents are, and if the Obamacare exchange is available in your state.

 

Excellent post. I had done the same a while back and got some good pricing with income protection up to 3K per month should I be out of work. Depends on what state you live in, so call around to brokers and ask, or post what state and someone might have a broker they can recommend.

In addition, OOIDA might be exploring the possibility of group rates for members in the future. That would be awesome.
