Yeah, probably, but I’ve had a mostly great life making poor choices. Currently I’m a truck driver. Some days it’s the poorest choice I’ve ever made.

Can’t stand Michelin. No idea why everyone thinks they’re the best trucking tires. Maybe on passenger cars, but this ain’t four wheelin’ this is truckin’. I’ve always run Bridgestone and highly recommend them, but my latest set are Goodyear’s and I am very impressed. I also recommend their trailer tires. Can’t go wrong with Bridgestone or Goodyear IMO.

Just found out recently, Goodyear bought out Cooper Roadmaster.

Be interesting If they’re decent or Good for a Year.

Our tire guy sold cooper tires to us for the last couple years.

I’ve never had coopers for drives other than my boss that runs 300HH on his Pete.

    I’ve got Continental HDL2

    Bridgestones or Yokos.

There's a generic General, which is Bridgestones Teir II, can't ever remember the name, that dudes are getting 250K+ with. Redburn is the massive dealer here in Phoenix, they usually have 200 or so in stock, now have 0.

I have Generals on my one, they are doing good. Truck 2 got like 250K out of his Generals as well ( HD ).

Megas run test where they measure tire cost per mile, including factoring in MPG difference, initial cost, and longevity, and the most common winner of those tests is Michelin. In fact when you see a mega truck with some other brand, it's typically just cuz they bought a hundred sets of the new model to compare to their Michelins.

That being said, a lot of other name brands are real good too. The difference from one to the next in mpg and longevity might be $25. But if you get a $50 discount on a different one up front, that changes the equation. Mega fleets get max discount on every brand, so their equation looks different than ours.

They still haven’t mastered remanufacturing or building new replacement parts in the automotive world.

Their bearings Suc. If it’s not a Timkin or Japanese it’s junk.

Just had to replace a 6 month old 7000 mile top of the line alternator from Napa on my Chevy conversion van.

Stupid piece of junk locked up the motor it froze up so hard. Luckily I had tools and took off the serpentine belt to get out of traffic.

Napa replaced it but I have no confidence in it and will replace it with a factory GM if I can find one not made in China

And this is about my fifth experience with Chinese automotive parts. But you can’t find anything else.

The thing for me trying to do the epic mileage thing with a set of tires is road hazards, which are actually more like truck stop, shipper, and receiver hazards. When you got some meat on, you can roll over a lot of stuff. When they are getting down to 6/32's or so, how much are you saving for a road call and a pos used tire?
