I know I'm gonna get flamed for this, but...

Would a C27 or C32 fit under the hood of a 389? If so, what would it take if one were to (hypothetically) do it?

Part of me says "no" but another part of me says "yes you could do it but you'd have to relocate a bunch of stuff." In the latter case, you'd need different exhaust manifolds (because the industrial C32's have the turbos sticking out the sides) as well as remote mounted filter housings and custom engine mounts. Obviously doesn't seem all that realistic but I just want to have some fun.

A C27 is more or less an evolved 3412.

Another thing I've noticed is that on Cat's 2019 (industrial) engine rating guide, the C27 and C32 are listed as being 76% wider than the 3412. Is that just because of the manifolds, accessory mounts, filter mounts, and whatnot, or is there something else?

I’m not sure of the exact measurements but the hood on a Ford LTL 9000 is a lot wider than on a Pete or kw
